SocialMinds is a podcast that talks a lot about marketing on social media, which is all about how we talk and share stuff online. This podcast shows us different ways that it connects to online communication and sharing. In many of their episodes they include guests who are experts in various aspects of social media and digital marketing. For example, people who run social media for different companies and give helpful tips and business owners who made their businesses bigger with social media. They help make the podcast a great place to learn all about social media, like the best ways to use it and what's new and cool in the social media world.

A specific episode that caught my eye was episode Ep. 225 - SOCIAL IN SIX, it discusses various current topics in social media. In this episode it goes over TikTok Shop visual search, the potential end of Twitter Circles and how Instagram decides feed post, Stories, and Reels ranking. The episode also talks about how smaller creators on YouTube can now make more money. It also states that Instagram is trying out new AI technology to create cool content and how Pinterest is starting to use bigger and better ads to grab people's attention. This SocialMinds episode gives a really good overview of what's happening right now and what might happen in the future with online talking and sharing. The talk about Pinterest's new way of showing ads tells us that businesses need to change how they talk to customers online. Since people pay attention to lots of different things on the internet it's really important for businesses to use cool and fun ads to catch people's attention and talk to them effectively. "The consideration phase is potentially one of the most important phases of the consumer journey, the lead is already warm so if you can hit a well-placed add in premiere spotlit this may be the tipping point of conversion and it seems like it works as brands have reported higher view through rates and completion using premiere spotlight than all the other placements in the past." (Watt,2023,7:30) This really shows us how influential thing are to us on social media and that tools like this can really be effective. In this episode it also touches on AI and how it is being introduced on social media to help with communicating online. Many people found that the one recently added to snapchat was creepy and very robotic. I found this funny because it is a robot, but it seems like some people don't look at it like that. They still want the human feel behind these new things introduced. On the new Instagram it is a little bit different, "They are going along the route of a chatbot or writing help bond." (Young,2023,9:25)
